Tho the coty cannot claim fame from this Perry Como Song It has had its own notoriety and has been showcased on American Television With Huel Howser In Californias Gold And Terry Bradshaw when our city of Glendora Was Featured As One Of The Safest Places to Live In America. Its still a small town atmosphere with very nice conservative folk despite the whole valley there built up and comercialized over the ywars since 1956 and she got her name not from this song im happy to say but from two of its founders Glen And Leadora Therefore Glendora Pride Of The Foothills In Sunny Southern California USA

I think the sex shops sell blow-up dolls to hard up guys who then take them home and have sex with them. It is reminiscent of the scene in "Armed and Dangerous" when John Candy and Eugene Levy hid out in a sex store and tried to "blend in". Very funny scene. Well, ever so many years ago, there was a song about a mannequin in the window of a department store and a fellow actually fell in love with the mannequin. But the mannequin was taken away and he lost his imaginary sex partner. This is a song from the moldie oldie era of the middle fifties. It is from Perry Como and it is called "Glendora". It hits the SSC at # 3375. I heard the hard rock version many years later but it does not compare to my way of thinking. Let me locate a video.

I heard this song in a store for the first time today. I had to check it out online to see who sung it. There is something pretty sick about a guy who sings about a mannequin in a department store and he wants to see more of her. Kind of a perverted song when you seriously think about it.
