Genres do change. Example. Slint is a post hardcore band from the late 80s put it next to the band thursday. They sound totally different thats why theres first and second wave. Just like screamo i mean real screamo. Honeywell is a first wave of screamo and bands such as exasperation missionary, touche amore are second wave. Read about it. If there were no such things as waves there would still be bands like the beatles and that shit. Thats why every 10 years theres different waves of subgenres.
