Sounds great. I have a Reference as well. What's the depth of your 14" tom?

do you have a certain interval between the top and bottom heads? would you say you're tuning high or low? I'm a new drummer and I have emperors on my kit and I'm really struggling with getting a decent sound out of them, but maybe it's just the cheap peace kit.... still, if you have any tips, I'd highly appreciate it!

alright cheers, i've got coated ambassadors on the rese but it sounds go on the floor tom and the middle tom. guess i keep trying!

Thanks! I have a drum dial somewhere, but no longer use it. I basically tune each drum to where it sounds most resonant, then put them all together and make minor changes to the intervals. I don't tune to specific notes, because every drum is different. Don't think I haven't struggled with it alot in the past, because I have! I think I'm finally starting to get it, though.
