I probably worded that the wrong way. Or not how I wanted it sound. I know Matt Cameron is way more technically skilled than Dave is. Anything Soundgarden sounds incredible on the drums. Just Matt can't compare to the way Dave sounded WITH Pearl Jam. Just my opinion. Any live videos I've seen from both drummers playing the same song multiple times have just made me prefer Dave over Matt in Pearl Jam. And I knew he had his problems in PJ. Didn't realize he did not drum on Ten tho.

oh give me a break, the drumming in Daughter is the least important,least prominent part of the song. Dave looked cool and was real flashy- that's really the only reason so many casual fans clamor on about him. Cameron and Irons are both far more technically skilled than he was- and Irons had a better sense of groove. I like Dave A., but c'mon you're really reaching here. Pearl Jam released great stuff before and after he was in the band.

Dave was flashier, but Matt Cameron is far more technically skilled than he was. Most people who bang on about Dave A. really don't know much about the dynamics of the band. He never really contributed much to the writing process (like Irons did and Cameron does. Those same people usually don't realize that he didn't drum on Ten or that he was actually their 3rd drummer and not even the 1st drummer named Dave. Personally I prefer Irons over the other 4 drummers they've had.
