They played Lithium back when I saw them in 1999 at Bogart's in OH. They did the whole song, and changed the lyrics. It was a lot more fun back then. Wish I could find a copy of it. I saw them 4 times for their 2010 tour, and I didn't hear any covers.

Here's a scary thought for both Pavement and Lithium fans. My friend teaches at Univ. of Iowa, and he was starting an undergrad class this fall on "Outsider Music" to look at really weird noise, indie, free jazz, punk, etc., but just to get a grounding, he asked the class who Kurt Cobain was. No one knew. Two students confused him with Kurt Vonnegut.
