The best songwriters like PW and JL ALWAYS forget their own lyrics!!!! They remember the lyrics to all their favorite cover tunes though. That is my measure of genius... cuz I would never screw up the lyrics of a Lennon or Westerberg tune. Can't remember my lyrics for shit tho.

The rough, naked rawness in his voice just heaps on an extra helping of emotion. I love his honest, unafraid, and "I don't give a shit" attitude in his music. Sort of like an american Keith Richards.

There is something about the tone of Mr Westerberg's voice. It sounds so genuine and real, not trying to sound like other vocalists the way that most singers do.
