As a girl and young woman, I sang constantly... the old standards (like 'Sentimental Reasons') were my go to fav's. Sang in every talent show in school. Our sixth grade teacher, who looked and dressed just like "Pat Boon", used to pull the old upright piano out each Friday, bring me up in front of the classroom... He'd ask my choice, he'd play and have me sing to the class. Everyone always said I sounded just like this great lady... Patti Page. Quite the honor.

Patti Page had style, class, warmth and even though in my opinion she was one of the best singers that ever lived, she made it seem so effortless. Not at all like today''s female singers, who parade on stage scantily clad, with all the bright lights, smoke and other special effects. Patti didn't need all that baloney...her singing was that good.
