It's a common misconception that "Quiet, Please..." was written about Judy Garland -- it makes for a good story, so Peter Allen never really bothered correcting the myth (which was presented as fact in the biographical musical, "The Boy from Oz"). The truth is that it was written about the great Broadway and cabaret star, Julie Wilson. Allen was at one of her nightclub appearances in the 1970's, where he was seated next to a rowdy, rude group of patrons more intent on talking and drinking than watching Wilson. He scribbled a note on a napkin and had it delivered to their table. It read: "Quiet, please, there's a lady on stage."

As far as I know it was written by singer/songwriter Peter Allen about (his once mother in law) Judy Garland. Dusty Springfield often covered it. I have never found any other version of it by Patti apart from this one.
