This is a great song but there's something that doesn't seem quite right about the pace of it. It's like if they made it slower or made it faster/heavier then it would be better. Tbh, most of the album is like that. They really did seem 'lost' during this period but still writing some great material. It was like they didn't know how to deliver it though.

Yeah, this is an "alternative rock-like" stage, yet is pretty good. You can still feel the doom behind it. Imo, their best age was until Draconian times or One Second, and then again with Tragic Idol, yet this a pretty good band in any genre.
