Track 4 from the 1988 album, Power Metal.

LYRICS:

Slaving for eternity.

Aiming for construction.

Wreckless crew abandon me.

Bringing on destruction.

Primal needs, annoying ways.

Incapacitation!

A legacy of submankind.

Who seem to rule this nation.

Out of touch, with your life.

Can't you see the signs.

For me to know, can you find out.

You read betwen the lines.

No way out!

When the cat goes away!

Over and out!

The mice come out and play!

Unrelentless trilogy.

Asking to accept them.

Tempers flare, screams are heard.

To uphold the profession.

Time and time and time again.

I will not play your game.

I ask you once a billion times.

To keep your life the same.

Out of touch, with your life.

Can't you see the signs.

For me to know, can you find out.

You read betwen the lines.

No way out!

When the cat goes away!

Over and out!

The mice come out and play!

No way out!

The price that you must pay!

Over and out!

Every dog has it's day!

Out of touch, with your life.

Can't you see the signs.

For me to know, can you find out.

You read betwen the lines.

No way out!

When the cat goes away!

Over and out!

The mice come out and play!

No way out!

The price that you cannot pay!

Over and out!

Every dog has it's day!

I really have no idea why Pantera tried to hide from their 80's material; Power Metal contains some of their all time best work

I live in San Diego and back then the 1980s they had a show called Metal Shop on 101.5 KGB hosted by Brian Schok, I heard this song on Metal Shop and it was awesome.

Why didn't Pantera play this shit? This could have been easily part of Cowboys From Hell!

This is one of the heaviest pre-Cowboys tracks they did. I think if they'd have re-recorded it, it would have sounded right at home on Cowboys From Hell.

This album is amazing. If it had had the production of CFH it would have been one of the best metal albums ever. The songs are excellent and absolutely enjoyable, and the guitar solos of the late, great Dimebag are already top notch. They should honor his legacy and re-release this album with a proper remaster, liner notes and so forth. Come on!

I dig this song a lot, even though I don't really like anything from Pantera's pre Cowboys. Also the drums sound weak as hell :p

this song and the whole album is very hard to play on guitar. should respect Dimebag Darrell

overall this album is a little uneven - a couple Judas Priest/Def Leppard type songs that are still pretty good - but the great tracks like this one are as good or better than any of the best Pantera ever createdDimebag Forever!

Yeah, If you don't like Pantera's early albums and/or know about them either fuck off or listen because they're great! The first 2 are like "track skippers" IMO but, I am the night and Power Metal are fucking sick!

This would've fit right in with Exodus, Testament, or How Will I Laugh-era Suicidal Tendencies.

Some of the better stuff Pantera had to offer pre - Cowboys: This is actually a pretty damn good speed metal album, not Glam at all. It's a far cry from the intensity of what came after but Power Metal &I Am the Night are fast past, gritty albums, which could stand side by side with Exciter's Heavy Metal Maniac, Helloween's Wall's of Jericho or Accept's Breaker. When I first heard their first 4 albums, years ago I thought yeah forget bout this shit, Far Beyond Driven was still kicking my ass. But on second listen this is not a bad album at all.

This song is fucking bad ass. No, maybe it's not what most Pantera fans "want to hear." But the riffs and driving beats are the shit. I honestly think this could've made its way onto Cowboys From Hell. It may have had to be re-recorded and "toughened" up just a tad. But all in all, this song is really thrashy and super fucking awesome.

Power Metal is a great album! It's very thrashing! They aren't Vulgar Display's Pantera, but it isn't absolutely a "faggot glam" album!
