Jimmy kimmel has no taste in good indie music , he relies on whatever pitchfork says is good. He's basically a retriever, he picks whatever pitchfork is really sprung on and puts it on his show to make it look like he "discovered it". spacemen 3 never had that chance and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't accept the offer knowing that they themselves blew the chance to get signed on a major label. That could have saved the group but it didn't happen so who knows? they never made it to the USA as a matter of fact, the group split shorty after recurring was released. no hate towards panda bear and animal collective (love their stuff) but I think bands are easier to be found these days because of the internet and social media. Let's go back 30 years ago and let's place panda bear in 1985. Odds are he wouldn't have made it, why? because the only way bands actually made it big In the heyday is if they made it on the radio and played the generic music that was "in the now" thank god for DIY and thank god for the internet. We sure as hell wouldn't have discovered so many good music without it. getting back to the topic here, kimmel makes a dumbass mistake treating the rookie better than the experienced drone veteran. the only guy who has an actual taste is carson daly, he put bands like cosmonauts and the growlers out there by having footage of their music on the show. They didn't even perform there. but notice their fan base getting bigger and bigger. thank god for the internet.

Wow jimmy Fallon really has no idea who Sonic Boom or Spaceman 3 is. He looks at Sonic Boom like he's just the backup for Panda Bear. Jimmy has no clue how brilliant Peter Kember is. What a tool! And everybody's always saying how jimmy has good taste in music but if he doesn't know who Sonic Boom is it's obvious he has no taste and just books the bands mentioned on pitchfork.
