The first kiss you gave me, I'll always remember, I was just a child then... Your lips were so tender... That kiss I'll remember... For that was the first day we met... I can't find the song on the Tube. I grew up listening to R/B Otis Williams was not the same Otis with the Temps. He had such a sweet loving voice. I can sing along with most all of his many songs. R/B truly changed this 14 year olds life.

Frank Sinatra covered this in Spring 1955, backed by The Nuggets, on Capitol Records F-3084, b/w From the Bottom to the Top. Ol’ Blue Eyes’ cannot touch this one, tho. The tenor sax break (1:25) does a lot for this charming gem! Luv it! Thank you! :I:

I was about 12 years old when this came out-it was a big hit in Memphis..Over 50 years of listening to this song and I still LOVE it as much as the first time I heard it.....

There's nothing like hearing the original (and best) version of a classic like this. It's a shame that the Charms didn't get the proper mainstream credit/promotion back then.

I could buy into that. You know, I was a DJ for 18 yrs, and the only labels I put on music were; fast or slow, good or bad. Good meaning; they got up and danced. Bad meaning; it don't move nobody.

amen, Nemesis! well stated. it's said that the great groundbreaking DJ Alan Freed's career was ruined by payola but I don't believe that. From what I've read, segregationists in Congress wanted him gone because they didn't like the fact that white kids were really getting into black music. well...big deal. here it is 50 years later and look at the popularity and acceptance of R&B/Hip-Hop across all color lines.
