It's open to interpretation, if the message to some is about telling a loved one how perfect they are by being imperfect then so it is. If others get the message about trying to prevent suicide then that too is just another side of the message.

Why would a band like Otep, make a love song. Like... have you ever even heard her other songs? The most touching one is about becoming a woman. You have to take these things into consideration, I personally believe Otep would not sing a love song. Plus at the beginning it says "If you do this you'll never have a chance to try again" which is pertaining to suicide.

how are you so sure it's not about telling a loved one they are perfect? just because it doesn't pertain to the listener doesn't mean it's limited to that. it can be to that particular person, or someone they care about and this song reminds them that they need to be there for their friend to be strong and helps them find the words to say so. maybe you meant that in an "in love" context. regardless it comes down to how the listener understands it, whether it's for their loved one or their self
