Ossian's recording of I Will Set My Ship In Order from the 1984 album Borders.

A traditional song sometimes known as I Drew My Ship. The tune for the Ossian version was written by singer Tony Cuffe, to words from Ord's Bothy Songs and Ballads originally published in 1930, and this tune is taken up in Capercaillie's version on their album Choice Language.

Billy Jackson (harp, Uillean Pipes, whistle, acoustic bass guitar, synthesizer, vocals), George Jackson (cittern, guitar, whistle), John Martin (fiddle, cello, vocals), Tony Cuffe (vocals, guitar, tiple) Iain MacDonald (pipes, flute, whistle)

This brought back many many memories. I would love to know more about the wonderful sea-scapes featured and who is the artist

Met the band mid-80s in the highlands of Cape Breton Island. They'd been touring with a theatre group ("7/85" or something?) Knew their music before. Wonderful wisdom tradition. Tony will be long remembered, and the band too.

I saw Ossian in Oklahoma City, Ok and had a great dinner with them afterwards. At that time I was visiting an O.U. Professor, who was also a critic. It was my first time seeing them. In 1987 they played in Santa Rosa, California, just after I moved there. They recognized me and spent the evening, after dinner, jamming with me and a girlfriend at the time. I have all of their CD's.

Thanks much for posting this. Someone gave me a beat up cassette with this album on one side and the Battlefield Field Bands' "Home is where the Van Is" on the other. The tape got eaten by stereo years ago and I forgot how great this album is. Do you by chance have some more tunes from this record to post? I searched around but could find no downloads to purchase....

I love this song. I do have it on a couple of my approximately half dozen CDs. I was fortunate to have met them in Oklahoma City and had an enjoyable dinner. After I moved to California from Michigan, I was able to see them again at Santa Rosa Junior College. I was surprised that they do have CDs for anyone looking for their music to hear in their cars.

@killiekentman Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. I was a keen concert goer back then but I never saw Ossian live, to my great regret.
