I was friends with an old gunsmith in Dothan, Alabama....his name was Jeff Orr. He built a Hawken rifle for me. He made the BEST watermelon wine I've EVER had. This song makes me think of him. RIP Colonel.

Thanks for sharing your family photos! It's so hard saying goodbye to your beloved pet's. I still miss and mourn my dog Holly. I'm reminded often of loved ones every day. And I think that keeps them with me always. It really is a comfort knowing our dog's and cat's will meet us in heaven. God Bless!

As I listen to this song that I have always liked I also like your video. I your dog looked like a very nice dog but they just don't live long enough. I lost a Dachshund in 1012, he lived a long life, then last year I lost the female. They do give much love and ask for little in return. It's true a dog is mans best friend. Thanks for sharing this memory.

Good song. Today in Cairns Qld 8 children were stabbed to death, ages from 18 months to 15 years. This song says it better than I can how beautiful children are. Those children didn't deserve this.

I came here looking for this song and found this video. I cried all the way through it. What a sweet way to remember such a great friend. I had my dog Bucky for 14 years. He was a rescue dog and had been horribly abused. When I got him he was always the most loving and sweetest pet I've ever had. He was my buddy and constant companion . When he got sick letting him go was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. They aren't like family they are family. I'm so sorry for your loss. One things for sure. Your Casey was loved and had a great life.
