we were one of the first bands to play at Tier 3. The Bad Brains did their first NY gig a week later. Also, one of the first to play St Mark's Bar & Grill, where the Stones recorded the Waiting for a Friend vid. Aid Haid is hanging out on the St Mark's Pl stoop with them in the video. We played CBGB's but more often Max's, once headlining on Tues and opening for Johnny Thunders on Sat. Glenn O'Brian wrote in Interview Mag: A new act to catch. NYN is like Jimmy Hendrix jamming with the NY Dolls."

It is funny that this shot always appears. It is the least representative of the band. The single is very rare and expensive. I have have released a re-issue. This time with a cover based on an oil painting of the bombing of Dresden by me. There are 250 numbered copies with the cover printed by letter press. NYN existed before the Plasmatics, but we were friends and opened for them on halloween 79 at My Father's Place on LI. NYN & The Misfits each opened one night for The Cramps at Irving Plaza.

a couple of corrections. Aid is not in this shot. He had left the band by then. On the bottom right is Leo "Pope" Faison, the other founding member besides Aid. Daryl (middle) was the drummer for this gig. Iolsta Hat from the band The Communists is the woman and Loose Touloose is the bass player. This was a one shot lineup at one of the NYN loft parties.
