I used to think that Nouvelle Vague, in spite of the obvious quality of their music, was too easy to be really interesting. Like, they cover good songs, but where's the originality? Plus this French sweetness, especially in the voice, that's too fashionable to be seducing. But when I heard this in a bar in Germany, it blew my mind. I think this is the best thing they've ever done. This is even better than the original. There's a melancholy in this tune that really gets me somehow. Congrats.
