Rubbish. You just don't know shit about Metalcore, you have to look for the great bands, they're not really well-known. You're just following the trend of insulting Metalcore. Pretty stupid, as far as i'm concerned. People need to listen to what they like, and not what is " true " or " real metal ". Who cares, as long as you enjoy the music ?

well melodic death metal can't really describe the whole metal genre,there are also bands like havok,violator,municipal waste etc are present.btw my point was american metal isn't dead it's just underground.you are talking about finnish metal scene and media can't harm metal cause there's always going to be some metal kids who will never loose thier faith in underground heavy music.

Metalcore is a putrid genre, the very sound or mention of which makes me gag, and upon whose introduction pretty much 85% of the metal genre went straight to hell...as soon as the disgusting core sound began to be called metal, and the word metal was associated with core, everything pretty much broke down. Now there's only a handful of real metal bands, most of whom are from Scandinavia, who safeguard the only remaining musica integrity the metal genre has left.

No, a lot of it is currently very mainstream. It's bands like Norther, Ensiferum and Insomnium that define true metal and protect the genre from being desecrated by big-label media-driven bands like bullet for my valentine, slipknot, Bodom (though they used to be a true metal band before hatecrew), etc...

what about the florida death metal scene,death isn't the only death metal band & there's is this new wave of thrash scene is also going, metal can't die,it's always been underground.
