Sometime in 1983 when I was in my mid-teens, I called a radio station to request this song and a DJ answered, who it turned out was Lionel Richie's cousin. He played the song for me. He gave me my first summer job, doing odd things around the station, in exchange for a broadcasting license. I think this may be the most spiritual song that has ever been in popular music. The mysteries, properties of life and death and magic are all in here. I just love that it marked such a cool adventure of my teen years.
