What made these guys great, like any other band that is great, is they constantly played, constantly went on tour right from the start when they sucked and 3 people watched them in dive bars. You can't get around that shit. Every-single-musician who has ever been good has ALWAYS started at the bottom and played in dives when they were starting out, from Mozart to Sinatra to the Beatles to the Ramones. That's how you learn what is real and what isn't and why so much shit sounds fake today.
