what happened was that when nirvana was a craze, they played a huge ass concert, and many people couldn't go because it was overbooked, and because people didnt have much money, so they played some songs for free for the people, artists nowadays dont do that they are like "you cant pay? then get the fuck out" and also, im 13 and i hate so much the crap they pass on the radio... WHY NOT PASS GOOD MUSIC

Cbgbs was like a two month in advance wait for bookings on it's later years. I've played there, I've played many places in NYC, the sad thing is this: these places don't care if you fart on stage for thirty minutes, as long as you have a paying audience. When Kurt played NYC for the first time it was in a little place called the pyramid. There a total of 20 ppl there. If it's in front of 1 or 1000 ppl play it cuz it's what u love doing first.

I think what you forget is that all the rock venues are closing. I mean for god's sake, CBGB's is closed, I can't imagine how the other ones are doing... I think its a great idea, but theres just no demand.
