New Vinyl, a quirky folk jazz trio, the national winners of the Smokefreerockquest 2012, formed to have their first go at the nationwide high school music contest in 2011.

New Vinyl's unusual combination of instruments makes them stand out right from the start and lead guitarist Alex Farrell-Davey, Ed Palmer on double bass and Allister Meffan on piano accordion work hard to make sure their genuine originality comes through.
