I'm trying to figure out the meaning of this song. It references "whistle down the wind"....a musical from the 60's about children discovering what turns out to be a murderer they find him in a barn and think he is jesus christ and they want to worship him. AND this song is about children......I'm wondering if this song is about "whistle down the wind".

If I got you right, You don't like mixing two eras. But that was my big idea to integral it! Ian Curtis sing first verse and "pass the mic" to Bernard Sumner, who sing second verse.
