Sorry to destroy the myth for what ICB stands for, according to Hooky it´s only a name of a company the band noticed from the motorway. A great song of course!

"Divided by Joy" by Luca Prodan released also in November of 1981. Incredibly similar despite the lack of communication in that year. Listen to it, it's awesome.

Sorry Kevin ...this isn't true. This is all New Order work. Maybe you are confusing it with the Ceremony/In a lonely place single which was the very last songwriting Ian Curtis was involved in and the first New Order record put out. The equally wonderful 'Procession' single was the first release by themselves, just before 'Movement' which at the time was a disappointment. The music was JD, but the vocals didn't sit well with that sound and their spell was finally broken. Glad they moved on!

Joy Division >>>>> New Order. JD *was* Ian Curtis.

Ahhhh. Makes sense. I was always under the impression that this was "Ian Curtis Buried" but your comment clarifies it. Thanks.

this is untrue. They had just finished recording Closer when Ian Curtis killed himself and it hadn't even come out yet. This record was written after Ian was dead.

I have this album on cassette. I'd love to get it on cd(because cassettes don't hold up well over time). Personally, this is my favorite N.O. album, because it marked a new beginning for the remaining members of Joy Division. Plus, I love the music. I grew up listening to this album in Jr. high, and high school.

Ian Curtis had already began working on this new album when he committed suicide. This was supposed to be a JD album

Yeah but does it...? I mean, if your friend had killed himself would you really intend that as the title of the song?

Just saw New Order in Dallas. Im 42 years old and as I looked around I saw many people my age with a younger sibling educating them about this great band. Overheard comments after the show like "See, Joy Division became New Order..." My brother, I got him into Joy Division years ago and he surprised me when he said "I got you a ticket to go see NEW ORDER." See folks it pays off to teach the young what you know.

Just because New Order sounds like Joy Division doesn't mean the impact is the same LOL because even though I like New Order, I think Joy Division's work is so much better.
