I was listening to the original vinyl "Spy" album with a set of 1973 JBL 4311 studio monitors being played on a JVC linear tracking turntable. "Never Been Gone" is my favorite song on that record. My favorite from the "No Secrets" would be "His Friends are more than fond of Robin". Both songs are Carly at her best!

This song was a memorial to my Mother Eda, we played it at the funeral home and it was written on her memorial pages. If you want to see it look up Broussard's Mortuary in Beaumont, TX (Eda Moore). I lost her in August 2009 and she always said this was her song, she was going back to the Cape where she grew up and funny she married Daddy from TX, and we lost him yrs. ago but he loved MA. too. Now after having cancer, they think they got it all without chemo, hopefully, if not I'll be home too,M

Makes me want to go home/see EVERYBODY I once knew (incl. CG). First, need a week to unnerve myself - just relax/get my BEARINGS again. Love to go w/my 'friend' to San Bruno & put flowers on Ma/Dad's grave I've never seen; their memory deserves that much. I want to sit in a vineyard & have a glass of wine & Genoa salami/fr brd.; Want to sit in my car at the beach when it's not too crowded on a CLEAR DAY! Want to see a fireplace going/feel coolness! Before I lv Earth, I want to go Home:)

My son died almost in 1980 after being with us a very short time. This song gave me peace, made me cry and to this day, reminds me of my little boy...".miles from nowhere, so small at last, in between the sky and the sea.......I'm going home....and it feels like I've never, I've never been gone". My Mom passed away in Aug. of '79 & was buried on my birthday....I don't remember if this was played at her funeral, but I certainly recall making the request. It's one of my MANY ( How can you choose from such a vast catalog? ) favorites. I'd like to have it played at my own service...along with Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb"...but that's just me....lol
