The people who are comparing the original ELO version to this Nerf Herder cover are fu**cking idiots. It is a cover, a tribute, and homage! One is not supposed to be "better" than the other you morons. Each group is completely different, with a different style and sound. The guys from Nerf Herder probably love Jeff Lynne & ELO and decided to do a cover of this. That's it. Comparing the two, and saying which one is better than the other is just plain dumb. So please stop it, and just enjoy.

Liked most of the music. The singing was like so many other contemporary 'boy-band'/garage-style groups, but to its credit the harmony at the end was great tho' they should have sustained the last 'baaaahhhh' till the music completely faded away. That would have conveyed a sence of nostalgia and pleasent melancholy, much like old-style barbershop quartet/frat-boy singing. Just an opinion.

that Doctor Who ep' was AWESOME except for how his relationship ended up...should have let her go, 'cause...that was just gross, dude. Now I often imagine that E.L.O is a fave of the Doctor.

Eh. ELO version is so much better. Way more powerful. And before I get accused of meta-hipsterism I will tell you two solid reasons why: 1. Not as powerful of a song. It sure is energetic but it doesn't zap you in the soul the way the ELO version does. 2. Has that general "Blockbuster Family Movie Pop-Style Oldie Cover For Selling The Soundtrack" sound to it you generally associate with the pop vocal debut of the relative of a real celebrity.

@tjbayliss People like you are ruining music. Music isn't about rules, it's not about accepted standards. Music is about the song makes you feel, how it makes your head bob or your foot bounce or your whole body music. If creativity was rule-bound we'd never had Salvador Dahli or Blue Man Group. So I recommend you learn to like music for what it is, not what you -think- it should be. Because there isn't one thing -music- should be. It can be anything. I hope you learnt something.
