Ok i know probably 97 percent of you are gonna hate me for this comment but it's the truth, although maybe a few of you might be with me on this. The message of this song clearly went over most your heads, like way way way over your heads, I'm sorry but its the truth. Ok yes, perhaps part of if, but a very small part of it, has to actually do with music, yes he is talking about how mainstream hip hop all sounds the same. But his message, which many of you, have confused with the sound of the 80's and 90's being better, how the rappers were better, and how now being mainstream is considered lame hip hop and underground is the real thing, is actually about the message. Yes, the message, the roots of hip-hop, how it originated, as a grassroots movement meant to help spread the word about the black struggle. And the fact that black culture and hip hop music is now the mainstream should be a giant plus but unfortunately the message was lost along the way. Some of you might be too young to really comprehend this aspect of hip hop music and/or some of you might not even care about its original message but that is it. That is his massage and what most of us should be taking away from it, hoping this medium helps people express the everyday struggles of inner city life. But we all know what mainstream hip hops message is nowadays, so we all can see why hip-hop is dead.
