The framing and use of figurative expressions are crude, though. They are inexact enough that they do a disservice to the song. And it is not you in particular I was thinking of when I felt the inital annyoance. Rather it is the crude projects that are put together to Radiohead, Muse, REM, and other such bands' songs. This takes away from the culture surrounding the songs because it makes the video creators the center of attention (and they are not as talented) instead of the musicians.

umm.. open your eyes dude. footage of John F. Kennedy's murder and footage of the protests are exactly linked with lyrics. the frames are even in sync with the exact words. so if you can't understand pretty obvious things please look at yourself before calling others morons. no offense :)
