Half the nation bought In The Summertime - and a lucky few flipped it over to find this great drivin' stompin' cover of the Woody Guthrie classic

This is about the Dust Bowel in Middle America. If this songs "author" ( Woody Guthrie) had dust Pneumonia it it amazing how long Arlo Guthrie's Father lived past that mass die off

50 years after he started & Mungo & his songs are probably more relevant now than he was in the 70`s....

The intro is one of the best I heard ever! Such a very good blues singing! Original unique Mungo Jerry-sound...

I agree that is driving blues rock at its finest!! Songs like "Crossroads", "Let's Work Together", "Move It On Over" have the same drive and are awesome to be sure, but this record that I didn't know has really floored me!

Few comments about the song content! In 1930s US many people died because of the dust storms. The over farmed land in the 'dust bowl' was stripped by the winds. Starving families migrated to California. In 1935 the dust storms raged for 27 days without let up. This song by Woody Guthrie tells the story of severe hardship and death from starvation and 'dust pneumonia'.
