When I first heard "The Wolf" (the studio version) I just wasn't impressed. It sounded too noisy and too overdone to me. I couldn't hear Marcus' flawless voice loud and clear like I should! However, when I heard the live version..man I fell in love with this song!!! In my opinion the live version is so much better than the studio version because it's not as overdone. Now I even like the official version. :) "Wilder Mind" is different than their previous work but, it's not as different as people pretend to be! It's still THEIR sound if you listen to other songs. Don't judge them and this album just by hearing "The Wolf" and "Believe". These songs especially the official versions don't pay the album much justice. I mean they are good songs but, the album has even better songs. I personally love the "Wilder Mind" and this is coming from someone who became a fan because of their older work. This is not a bad change and I sure as hell wouldn't call them "mainstream" lol. Trust me, they are FAR from being mainstream. :P
