the band's got the final say on the mixing. not like you track everything and then split ("we've done our part, it's in your hands now") . i've never recorded with anyone that didn't make sure that we were happy with the sounds. albini didn't drop anything, he did his job like he was paid to do.

I agree, better songwriting on this one. I like the mix, although the vocals are still buried too much. Preston hsa a great voice, don't bury it!
