Oh Boy! Leslie West - what a fantastic sound. His tone, vibrato, timing - one of the tastiest players ever, still sounds good now when many of his contemporaries have dated.

Sha Na Na was the past... Crosby, Stills, and Nash was the present...Mountain represented the future of rock music at Woodstock, in my opinion. They definitely were the most 70s sounding band at the festival--unfortunately hampered by their "60s sounding" drummer, who I noticed they quickly got rid of

His lead in "Theme for an Imaginary Western" is nothing short of a true work of art, and lives with Clapton's "Layla" andPage's solo in "Stairway to Heaven" as one of the best lead solos in the history of music.
