Not the best version of 'Morning Dew' but interesting as Episode Six contained Ian Gillan and Roger Glover, later of Deep Purple. Considering these 'heavy' men are in the group it is strange that I think their best number is 'I hear trumpets blow' a cover of a record by harmony group The Tokens.

I always liked this version because it was played on pirate radio a lot in the summer of love (1967).

Great band Episode Six. I always thought they were really under-rated.Sheila Carter has a nice voice. Listen to her singing 'Something's Got A Hold Of My Heart'...FAB.Thanks for sharing

Thought I'd give this version a listen. Doesn't seem too bad, but still not quite there. My favorite is by far The Nova Local's version.

Holy crap this sounds like Ocean Colour Scene quite a bit. An influence perhaps?

Just curious, but how many versions of this song are out there. Besides this one, I've heard the Jeff Beck Group version, Lulu's and the Grateful Dead's. It seemed like a lot of groups, especially the Brits covered this classic.

Their live version of this song is the best version I have every heard. Tim Rose's version is fine, but I don't think it is as good as any of the Episode Six versions.

@hawkmoon03111951 Sorry but in my opinion this cover is definitively the best. The voices are really great for this theme, and the music is light and clear, that given me chikenskin everytime I hear it !....

1:09 Wow! what power. What a voice Gillan had back then. He must have known that he was destined for greater things.

The drummer of this band was an interesting guy, he sung , played drums and believed was the star of the band !

I have listened to a lot of versions of this song here on youtube the last hour, and I think all the versions of the song that you listed abowe are very good, but it's one version that in my opinion is better than all the others, and it's also the reason that I absolutely love this song. The version I think is best is Nazareth version because it has everything, Dan McCaffertys voice, and Manny's guitar playing, listen to the live version with Nazareth.

Hate to say it but the Lulu version does not compare to this. Bloody annoying xylophones for one! This is the best version without a doubt. Always preferred this one...

Lots of people have covered this song and some are better than others, but Ian Gillan's voice really stands out on this song - his voice is strong and melodic. The arrangement is very good also especially the percussion and the low notes on the keyboard/piano

@mcjayc100 You're right, it's not a bad version but there are better. For me the Tim Rose version is the best. Had not noticed Roger Glover's resemblence to John Lennon before. I can see what you mean, from that angle there is a certain similarity.

I would have to say that it's not bad version of 'Morning Dew.' It's pretty good. Of course, if you want to hear a good take of that song, check out The Jeff Beck Group's version w/ Rod Stewart on vocals. That version will blow your mind. BTW, have you noticed that Roger Glover looks exactly like John Lennon?
