I love this song. Today is a perfect day to share it. I'm no expert on Australian politics, but I admire +Julia Gillard 's passion, and watching her speak on gender equality in Parliament was inspiring. The story behind this song is interesting, so I encourage you to look it up if you like it, but for the TL:DR crowd - Sugarcane is something we grow and nurture until, when in its glory, we hack it down with a machete. We do this with people too.. i could not agree more. Fantastic that she found her love for music again thru Buttterfly Boucher. I want her. Lol One thing that never gets mentioned is her intellect. I was told she was a candidate for Mensa. The chick can sing, she is stunning, loves the beauty of women, has a crazy funny sense of humour and she is incredibly intelligent. What more could anyone want. She is a gift!

She's amazing. Proud to be Australian. The two things I love most about her are that her lyrics are so beautiful and that when she sounds just as amazing, if not more amazing, live. Lots of singers these days have good lyrics, or good voices on the record (actually... not so much anymore... you'd be hard pressed to find someone like that now...) but she's amazing live. I want to see her! I LOVE YOU MISSY HIGGINS!
