In August of 2005, several artists, many of them veterans of the British Invasion, came together at B.B. King's in Manhattan to honor Mike and to celebrate his work. The musicians on that special evening included Billy J. Kramer, Denny Laine, the Zombies, a reunion of Peter and Gordon, and the Fab Faux. It was an amazing evening and the FF remain honored to have been a part of it.

Mike passed away on February 28th, days before the induction of the Dave Clark Five into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Mike, or the even greater pleasure of working with him, will not soon forget him.

Oh boy...! When the DC5 broke in 1964 I was just as dazzled by them as I was the Beatles. How great it was to be a teenager in that era compared to what the poor kids have today. I always thought Mike Smith was the consumate voice of pop music. He should've been the 5th Beatle ha.Now today there's only two lads left, what a terrible shame the whole DC5 couldn't all bask in the sunshine of their tremendous success, especially in the USA where they were even more succesful than the fab mersey 'mop-tops'! And that's saying something.Mike, Rick & Denis... I hope you are wooing the crowds up there as you did down here. I love you guys right along with Dave and Lenny. Thank you for the wonderful music you gave to millions of dedicated fans just like me. Be at peace, you richly earned it. God bless you.

Look, I agree 110% that the Fab Faux are some of the best musicians on this planet. I also agree that this cover of Catch us if you Can, is 99.99999% accurate. It is just too bad that the drummer chose to mix in a few beats on his small Tom instead of continuing with the snare. The Fab Faux practice for hundreds of hours to get the sound not 'like', not 'accurate', but rather 'perfectly accurate'. The drummer slipped up on a few beats with the Tom and rolls that are not present in the original song.

Definitely captured the spirit and feel of the song, the backing vocals are spot on, but the lead isn't quite Mike Smith quality. Of course.

I was at the second show, and this still was one of the best nights of music EVER! The Fab Faux turned out to be the greatest surprise, I came for The Zombies and left with a new attitude about cover bands. I'll never forget how this show made me feel. RIP Mike Smith, he was on a hook up and did know and hear this incredible night before he passed. And where IS that DVD???
