This is the classic MIke Batt track - the genius at his best - ie just being himself. OK, The Wombles were indeed fun, but this shows the true talent of a unique character in the history of music.
Not only his solo stuff, like this, but look at some of the other material he has penned for others - 'Bright Eyes' - 'A Winter's Tale' (with Tim Rice).. Too many to mention in this short tribute, but go on! Share this with as many friends as possible - especially younger people who have yet to experience Mike's sheer genius.
I think most of us have experienced a night similar to the one described in this masterpiece - let's hear your comments and experiences..
