I love the part around 4:58 where he says, "cool, huh?" I'm like, yeah, that's really flippin' cool.

Thank you Michael, I never understood the slash notation when looking at degrees now I get it, so ii/IV, V/IV is like saying that the IV is sort the "temporary root" so to speak and the ii - V is based off of that degree not the original root.

+PianoUniverse ,Have you figured it out yet?I think he's doing this, but I never got any music lessons, so I'm not sure.F B# C7 B#7F(7) = F A C E# ==> C E# Aalternate with C E Ab B# (7) = B# D F G# ==> F G# DAlternate with F G DbSo I think he doesn't plays the 7 chords in his right hand, but not the root of the chords and alternates with the other thingy (haven't got a clue what it's called).Am I right or wrong?

I've been studying with my new teacher doing the Real book and all the keys and their chords, and I get the numbering system. Are you just breaking up those chords to get the a nice sound?
