This is the song Franti played that later I was able to personally thank him for (one week ago today on The Rock Boat). I've heard it before but never with the explanation he gave. He wrote this for his son who got on a bus to move from San Francisco to New York. It made me think of KJ and how he wants to move to California, or anywhere really, from Minnesota. As Franti sang the song I was on the upper deck of the pool deck in the wind and could feel the sea spray on my face. Thinking how lucky I've been and back to how much I wanted to get out of New Richmond when I was 17/18. I can't wait to see KJ 'shine bright'.
