I remember I saw Metric (well, half of them) at Best Music Poll Boston in 2009 for free. Two of the members couldn't do the show. One's wife i think had a baby coming, the other sick? Anyway, it was the lead singer Emily and the guitarist James Shaw. But they performed this about half way through their set, probably for one of the first times, considering that's the year the album came out. But regardless, it was a great performance, and a cover of a beautiful classic.

This is a very good cover of one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs. I really like the "starkness" of having just the voice and the piano. Floyd is a hard band to cover well, but this is a pretty good one. My only complaint is how strained he sounds when he sings "Oooooh, babe..." near the end. I know he was trying to emulate Roger Waters, but in this cover, I think he should have taken some liberties and stuck closer to his own vocal range. That's a pretty minor complaint, though. :)
