Metal screaming/growling is not as easy as it sounds. You don't simply scream into a mic (although there are a few musicians that do), cause that would sound like shit. It can take years of practice before you perfect growls and screams, and yes, there is an actual technique to it. It's not as easy as you may think. Look it up.
