I own both the Mesa Mini Rectifier and the Engl Gigmaster15. I must admit, to my ear the quality of the sound is far superior with the Engl. It just seems a lot more "pure" and less gravelly, as well as tighter. For a Nu Metal/Hardcore kind of sound, i recommend the engl.

It's pretty standard to use a boost nowadays. Hell my music teacher used a tube screamer and he strictly played jazz and reggae.

You're full of shit. Even the bands you like in your comment history use boosts of some description. Get a clue, read up why and how a boost is used and stop bullshitting.

Wow, good for you. I've been in the music business for over 13 years, and clearly you have no idea what you're talking about.

Yes, i know it better than u dude, i'm in music business for several years! That's why amps have more channels, you don't need any shity pedal to boost, they're garbage for me

You really have no idea what a boosted is used for, right?

I do the same. But it's more because I'm poor and can't afford all these nice pedals! Kidding. Sort of. But yeah, we're on the same page. I also do really like the pure amp sound as well. Too many after effects, you lose the sound of the amp itself and things just start sounding the same. <(^_^<)

yeah, i now it, for me the distortion always should be from the amp, nothing more! i know that all rectifiers are very limited for metal stuff ( i had one triple rectifier) for metal i prefer my Engl and Diezel by far! But i love my triple rectifier too, but not for metal! I never use any pedals, just the pure sound of the amps

Lol it's not like he keeps the pedal on the whole video or anything. He showcases the sound of the amp on its own in probably all of his vids. \m/,O_o,\m/

Hey fearedse, i like all your videos, but give me a favor, stop using pedals, use only the pure sound of the amps

thanks for demo, I think its the best in you tube for guidance on this amp.

I listened to this back to back with the Triple Rec playthough. The Mini sounds like a modeler trying and not quite managing to be the real thing :\ It seems nasally and muddy.
