Let me explain! I am referring more to bands like Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Delain! They all sound the same to me! Of course guys like Devin Townsend, Kamelot, Fear Factory, Myrath, Scar Symmetry, Raunchy, Sybreed, Disarmonia Mundi, and Evergrey are a cut above the rest! Did you notice how the instrumental part lowers in intensity when the clean vocals begin? Growling doesn't require that and you can listen to stronger riffs for the whole duration of a (death) metal song. Don't get me wrong, I love every type of rock/metal, but don't call bands like Behemoth, Bolt Thrower or Cannibal Corpse moronic teenagers. And what the other guy said about how they can't hold melodic tunes? In my knowledge you have to be able to sing to perform growls. \m/11 years назад

Very good sound but... oh man these lirycs, nothing compared to what Mikkel wrote. All songs of this album are all about flat pain, sorrow and shadows and don't add nothing usefull at all, i miss the "torch in the darkness" that Mikkel used to have.11 years назад

Ive heard many of that kind of bands, where they also have clean vocals. The instrumental, the lyrics, and the screaming sucks in general, but dahm the singers usually have the cleanest neatest heavenly voices..11 years назад

As a look into your comment and "hopecandecieve"s, I think that what you said with "moronic teenagers" is a little harsh. There are teenagers out there who, funnily enough, can do this kind of stuff. It's about the talent factors in itself and how much they practise/how serious they are about the music they are creating. Not all teenage bands scream because they're useless and I think you will find there are more teenage bands with cleans over screams. It's the composition that matters.11 years назад

@NovembersDooom I think he's talking about Kral, and he's right if that's the case. That's not to say Rene isn't a great vocalist, but Kral and Mikkel were part of the magic that made Mercenary one of the best, most under-rated bands in the world. Now, they're just a great band, but they were incredible before. This is coming from a long-time fan of the band, I just don't feel the same way listening to this as I do listening to the songs from 11 Dreams and THTR.12 years назад

@VvTribaLdavEvV Its the same singer dumb dumb. The original clean vocalist left and the guy that did the harsh/cleans now does all the vocals. That doesnt bother me nearly as much as the boring riffs and lazy non epic song writing that Mercenary is known for...another amazing band bites the dust :(12 years назад
