Neville. What can I say about one of the best characters in the entire HP franchise. Neville Longbottom's tragic past seems to make the young man pitiable (especially when coupled with a unfortunate excess of adolescent awkwardness) but it the end, Lord Voldermort himself failed to see that the helpless boy had grown up and come into his own as a skilled weilder of magic and an effective leader . Of the two talents, the latter is by far the hardest to master. Neville shows us just that hardship and adversity in one's life does not always negatively scar that person. Indeed, as was in Neville's case, trauma and hardship can bring about the very best in a person. Often this kind of radical personal transformation, whether it be for the good or bad, is easily overlooked by others until the affected person does something completely out of character and unexpected... LIKE PULL A GODDAMN SWORD OUT OF A DUMPY HAT AND CUTTING THE FREAKN' HEAD OFF YOUR BELOVED PET BOA CONSTRICTOR!!!! It's always the quiet ones.
