I found this quote at the end of a positive review of "She Hangs Brightly" from Rolling Stone 1990. I like the landscape image the writer comes up with: "Mazzy Star's hypnotic music, like Sandoval's voice, is as entrancing as the reflection of an ominous night sky on a lake. And its effect is just as disquieting." -But I disagree with the last word. I don't find Mazzy Star or Hope's voice/words disquieting at all. Often, melancholy, yes, but blissfully quieting & comforting, not disquieting!
