What's funny to me is that the TT people will claim their system makes certain keys more in tune while adding "harmonic spice" to others. That is marketing doublespeak if ever I've heard it. Lastly, this is beside the point, but consonant intervals aren't necessarily the most pleasing to all ears.

There's nothing "inaccurate" about our temperament. It's just one way of doing things, and it happens to be a lot easier than other ways because you don't need a different instrument or tuning literally every time you play in a new key. It's great that people are being open minded about this, but the musicians of old saw the shortcomings of other temperaments and decided everybody's life would be a lot easier if they all agreed on something.

@TheSonsofHorusx Just go to freak guitar camp in Sweden and you can jam with IA to your hearts content. It is late july and august every summer. Hope to see you there.

@dharmonic Not only are you way off, as previously stated by @loki8lelouch7 that these in fact are developed by True Temperament in Sweden. The fact of the matter is that IA has been using these for 5 something years now. Making him way earlier than Vai with this innovation.I tried one of his first TT guitars in 2009. I also remember the facebook post from Anders Thidell (Inventor, and owner of the company) that showcased him working on Flo and Evo (Vai's main guitars) a year later.

Sunedosa

@dharmonic You can, it is expensive though since the fretboard needs to be replaced if you have a setneck/neck through guitar or the whole neck if it's bolted on.

dharmonic

@Sunedosa well, i watched a vid for steve vai talking about these frets... anyway, i just wish i can have them on my guitar :)

Sunedosa

@dharmonic You are WAY off, the frets were designed and developed by truetemperament in sweden, Find them at truetemperament . com

@loki8lelouch7 yes that's true, he can tune his guitar into chords and remains in tune in open, moreover, the unique shape of the frets provide amazing sustain. This frets where developed and designed by Ibanez and were used for the first time on Steve Vai's guitars

those frets he have alow him to have his Chords to come out perfectly in tune no matter what fret he is on. Steve Vai talks about it in his gear video.
