@joytato I engineered the session, so I can explain the harmonica. They player was the same guy that accompanied Angel Snow. For her session, he ran a lap steel guitar through a series of effects (which you see briefly in this video) and into a pair of guitar amplifiers. For Matthew, he replaced the guitar with a converted phone receiver, which served as a harmonica mic. He played this through all the same effects, which gives it the other worldly sounds you hear.
