At first, because Skrillex is good. But people listen to it because that's ''cool'' for them. Many of the people actually don't know what they are listening to, and don't give a fuck about the greateness of a song or an artist.

He definitely wasn't one of the first to make dubstep..brostep, maybe. dubstep? no. What's funny is he didn't know shit about electro before he started doing it. The kid was in a metal band so that explains why his pitiful excuse for dubstep sounds like it does. Also just proves that people will listen to anything if they think it's the cool thing to do.
