We can't win this arguement dude. My brother is a person that also doesn't see the need to label anything and not just music. True we listen to everything and anything good but I would still prefer to classify what's what you know? I mean could you imagine all genres just being classified as music? Lolol wow.

Doesn't matter what they think really. Deadmau5 also doesn't like labeling his pieces and yet they play it safe and keep the feel of the genre. How would it look if they just put "music" as the genre? Yeah it'd be real easy to look for music then. Lol we'd never get anywhere. All I'm saying is that things need to be classified. Movies, food, automobiles, music. Everything. Without classes there would be chaos.

Why is it necessary? you don't NEED to do anything with music, if the artist comes out and gives it a genre, so be it, if not, whats the big deal? You are putting limits on the music. You're saying only songs with these certain characteristics are in this sub-genre of a sub-genre. its unnecessary. All it does is make people fight about who has the better genre classification. I have listened to shit tons of EDM. I don't need to categorize a song into an unnecessary group to listen to it.

There's no need for genres, and I'm tired of seeing people bitch out each other on what genre a song it under. Progressive House sounds like Trance, New "dubstep" is closer to Electro House than Dubstep. "Chillstep", "lovestep" really? It's stupid, and unnecessary and serves no real purpose but to create dispute between two people who can come up with different names describing the same sound. Just listen the music, quit trying to put limits on what it can be.
