I remember when I first got this album. I knew had something special. Had been listening to strictly death metal for so long and then Mastodon came along and turned me on to metal-infused hard rock. And then I found the Melvins and the rest is history.

You said it's an album for the mass public when really it isn't, it may be radio friendly and have short songs but it still retains all the elements of a Mastodon album

I have to go with gojirametallica on this argument...for both remission and leviathan, the band rushed both albums, they were only in the studio for a few weeks for each, the same as the hunter. The hunter was more of them just doing what they want, not trying to do something like a concept or a certain sound imo

Says the guy with a deranged pokemon as his picture. You have clearly never seen any interviews about the hunter. they didn't want to make an album full of long songs because they did that on Crack the Skye. They also made the album "fun" because of the heavy subject matter on CTS. They also said that they structured the songs to be more like classic rock songs. That album is the essence of Mastodon. If ignorance is bliss you must be in a heavenly state of being, seriously check your facts.
