This is less a hot tea and honey song and more of a merlot straight out of the bottle song, and maybe a few frozen snickers.#saddestsongever

I can't tell if it's about a mistress or a mother waiting to hear from her adult son who has abandoned her to have his own life.

Bought the CD when it was released (and had the man it reminds me of). Still have the CD but nothing to play it on. Been looking for this for 3 solid days now. So glad it's here. Thanks.

So lovely ... I don't recall hearing it before. Thank you for posting it. I was posting a photographic image and the title stuck in my head ... when I googled, your YouTube link came up. I'm so glad it did. I just purchased the song on iTunes and am playing it over and lover. If you're interested, it's on Fine Art America. Lois Bryan ... Goodbye Again. Sorry, I'd include a link, but YouTube doesn't seem to want me to do that. Thank you again.

this song cames from 'State from the Heart' CD (released 1989) cut 8; Jesus !!, she was young for that time but with the great voice always. I like MCC very much

MCC is the ONLY singer of any genre whose album I would buy without hearing a single song. I find her to be that good of a singer; her songwriting skill are absolutely awesome!

The piano chords in the background remind me of "I am a Town", which is another haunting portrait of loneliness and longing. I love MCC's upbeat songs as well, but she has a way of tapping into melancholy that very few artists can do without going overboard. Even though the songs are sad, they're still cathartic in a way, rather than morose or draining. She's amazing.

Without a doubt, Mary's finest song.......and I love everything she produces. Garnet Rogers version comes close, but no one can tell it like Mary. "She made a fist last night....then broke the hallway light".......doesn't it make your blood run cold?
